I found this today. It looks like post mint damage, but the coin is not in bad shape and I can see the shadows of IN where they are supposed to be. Look at the IN. It is all messed up. But there are fat shadows where it should have gone. What do you think, post mint damage? There is a mark to the left of IN. Could some part of the coin press caused this? The scrape is not very deep but I can see that it is definately a scrape of some kind(long scratch marks inside the scrape). The Reverse has No major scratches on it as well as the obverse except normal circulation wear. The only major scrape is near and to the left of IN. My guess is post mint damage.

The semi-circular scrape parallel to the rim would indicate counting machine damage

Do you mean counting machine at a bank or at the mint?

My guess would be a Coin Wrapping Machine. When the coins are rolled into the shot gun rolls, the outside edges of the coin get scraped/gouged/distorted when the machine wraps them. They are usually all ways the same distance of marks on the coins. Just depending on the type of coin wrapper.
