MINT_MARQ Pillar of the Community United States 1000 Posts	Posted 06/01/2008 08:10 am I bought this as part of a collection. It was stored in a clip together container with a grey foam insert. I believe it was stored like that since the late 60s early 70s. The foam desiningrated to a powder and the coin took on a dark almost bluish tone. Be honest, I can take it. Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6381 Posts	Posted 06/01/2008 11:39 am I'd call the obverse VF-35 and the reverse EF-40, for an overall grade of VF-35. There is a lot of blending of Miss Liberty's hair detail and the feathers at the eagle's right wing tip are partly worn together. The toning looks pretty natural; hopefully the foam debris didn't do the coin any harm. Report this Post to the Staff

Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6381 Posts	Posted 06/01/2008 7:59 pm Shadow, Not so much at the VERY tip, but near there. If you draw an imaginary line from the tip of the wreath on the left side to the eagle's beak, the line will pass through the area I am talking about. It looks like a good-sized patch where the feather lines have worn together. If you don't see this on the coin itself then maybe I'm misreading the photo. Report this Post to the Staff

MINT_MARQ Pillar of the Community United States 1000 Posts	Posted 06/02/2008 12:33 pm Since this is a better date coin - borderline semi-key date, and given the possible grade of VF45 Does anybody think it would be worth the $34.25 to have it graded by ANACS? I only have a few Morgans. I plan on keeping this one as a investment with the idea of selling in the future. Report this Post to the Staff
