Does anyone here own or think that buying one of these sets is a good deal. I mean, I found one for $20 but cant decide whether it is worth it or not. Anyone have any opinions?
Its one of those shell gas station ones and includes 35 bronze coins.

It depends on whether you like it or not really.......but I'd say no myself. It's not a U.S. Mint product and so many "private companies" have minted so many different things for so many years........uugggghhhhh ! ....My dad has a 1970's "Franklin Mint...Silver Proof Presidential dollar Set" and a "50 State Silver Proof Dollar Set" (that's right "dollar" not "quarter"!)(the state designs are of course a little different than our quarter designs now, but these ARE big beautiful shiny Silver Dollars....both sets are).........but these are only really worth the price of silver so...(which is "up" right now, but, nonetheless, it has no value beyond that)..........

If it were me........I'd save my $20.00...dunno...I'm just not a big fan of these "Non-Mint" products.....

OneMoreRoll,

I have the first three presidents on the sale board.
3 for Sale

Here are some that sold on ebay

Sold on Ebay

Note they are Sterling .925 Silver.

I am with eagle foot, mostly because I collect coins not medals. But I have to say they are attractive designs. I got the three in a collection I bought from someone.

The bronze sets are pretty common. If you're in a hurry $20 isn't all that bad but you can save a lot if you wait.

The aluminum versions are scarce to rare. Indeed, about six of them probably don't exist at all. The commons are easy to find still even in unc but more and more of these you see are beat up. Most of these were made in three press runs so there are three varieties of most of the common ones. It's a fun set but give up all hope of ever finishing it. In 30 years I've got about 55 different.

There is a set made by Cracker Jacks as well from 1933/ '34 that is pretty challenging.
