Katie! There is a wealth of information on the left side under US Coin facts. Separate by denomination, decades, types etc. Post pictures with specific questions and we will be happy to try and help.

Some of the type coins are worth $10 or more. All the silver dimes are worth at least $1.30 each. Lincoln sets look like common issues worth 2-3 cents each.

Welcome!
What does the octagon coin have imprinted on it?
First rule - Do NOT clean the coins in ANY way. Wipe with cloth, dip in anything....no....no and NO! :)
Some coins, even though they may be obviously worn from circulation, may still be worth a fair amount of money.

It is rather a good book for information but ignor the prices that are listed. Always excessive and supposedly what you would pay to buy one, not sell it. Next you may want to try to buy something like an Album. Those blue Folders are not the greatest for coins. And that one 1921 Mercury dime is worth at least $65 so handle with care. Do not attempt to clean any of those coins. Cleaned coins may do more damage than good. Be careful handling any coins since that could leave finger prints on them. And

Welcome to the forum. Inheriting coins got me to switch from gathering proof sets by default to thinking about what I wanted to collect. I still like annual sets, but I also now really like some of the colorized coins too I hope it similarly starts you down a road of collecting what you like.
