Hello All,

I'm new here. Just logged on 6/4. I've been collecting for years, but quit working 2 years ago, and have a lot of time on my hands. I started roll searching last fall with cents, nickels and a few quarter boxes. Had a hard time getting halves like everyone else, until I started asking my bank to order them. The first couple boxes were fantastic, but have kind of slowed down in the last few months.

Has anyone giving any thought to this: If there are enough of us checking rolls from our banks, maybe we are getting the same coins back and re-checking the same ones over and over again. Halves DO NOT circulate, so how many are in the local suppliers (armored car services) of a given metro area?

Its just a thought.

The 365+ halves I have gotten are all slowly being introduced back into circulation (not in the town I got them from. I will get more rolls tomorrow
I can't wait...Its kind of like fishing.

I had similar luck with cents, the first few boxes yielded lots of good coins, then slowed down to a trickle. I chocked it up to beginners luck.

I wonder how much impact a few collectors sorting a few boxes has? Maybe more than I originally thought.

Check out this long-running thread on JFK finds: https://goccf.com/t/22710

People are finding silver all the time, some are finding nothing, some coins are being Sharpie marked and then found by others. Geography plays a role- Dallas/Shreveport area is fairly dry of silver from the Fed box from Loomis armored car company.
