Hello and

I think you have a modern medallion produced as a tourist souvenir for a town in Germany. There is a group of German cities nicknamed "Barbarossastadt" because the Holy Roman Emperor Frederic Barbarossa stayed there, so that explains the portrait on the obverse. Gelnhausen seems to be the main city that has this name.

Took the liberty to orient and enlarge a bit. Looks to be a Catholic/Lutheran? German religious token or medal. Honoring Saint Frederick perhaps and depicting where it is from.
