I am in possession of an
Un-circulated 1969 One Dollar Federal Reserve Note, personally signed by David M Kennedy,
the Secretary of the Treasury (who was a friend of mine).
It has a low serial number less than 1100

I can post pictures but I was trying to get some sort of value on this one - It probably has more sentimental value than Collectors value.
Thanks in advance

The only sold listing I see on ebay is for two signatures graded PMG 66PPQ and it went for $66. There are two BIN listed at $155 each. None of those has a 4-digit serial, so that may add some value. I'd guess maybe $100?

I hate to be a downer but a 69 is not old enough to be collectible and a 4-digit # isn't low enough. Mr. Kennedy signing right over his printed sig isn't too much of a thing, either, IMO. Still, you might get $50 from someone who collects autographs but, then, you may need to have it authenticated and that'll run you over $50. Did you say it was a gift...

Nice note goodie.

Discerning values on courtesy autographed notes has to do with many factors. Some signers were more prolific than others. Ivy Baker Priest and Mary Ellen Withrow signed a LOT of notes. Most notes signed are $1's, so higher denominations usually bring more. Autographed star notes bring more, and most authenticated ( TPG) notes bring more. Checking recent, past auction results is the best way to check values.

Treasurer Rosario Marin signed many notes, including these three. All three notes are different denominations, all three are star notes, and all end in the same number.

I have no desire to sell this one but wanted to see if it had any collector value.

Yes David Kennedy (no relation to the Kennedy's he was a Scott not Irish) was a close friend.

That's a dandy trio, Steve. I like that Marin signed in green.

I don't think Treasurers have much else to do but sign notes.

Nice note. I collect courtesy autographs and have several on different denominations on large and small size notes. With that said, I think if you were to sell this, you'd probably get $20 to $30 retail. Modern courtesy autographs aren't as valuable.
