I want to get into buying in bulk because of the potential of getting a key date for cheap I DONT want to spend more then 100 bucks for my first shot and I want an unsearched lot from pre 65 weats not wanted I have completed my set except for the VDB-S. I have looked on ebay but old coins are going for 50 bucks for like 20 and they arn't in bulk they are some ones collection. Any suggestions? sites/people on here/coin shops ect please help

Welcome to the forum!

I think that finding an actual unsearched lot of anything is going to be difficult - especially if they're selling it on ebay. If you have many holes of fill, going with bulk purchases of mixed wheats may be the way to go. There is a thread here: https://goccf.com/t/29995 that might be useful. I think it's safe to say that you're very unlikely to pick up a key date coin in one of these "unsearched" lots. For those, your best bet is to purchase it individually. Many people shy away from raw keys because of the chance of fakes so you might want to think about slabbed keys. Good luck!

They cost a significant amount for a reason. Chances are, even if they lay out somewhere in an "unsearched" lot, the probability of that happening can be at low odds.

I would keep an active watchlist on e-bay. I have been able to find specific coins at a sub market price.

99% of those "unsearched" lots on ebay are a scam. That being said, I do personally know someone who managed to pull a VF 1914-d from a bag of wheaties.

Unsearched rolls from ebay have to be searched, IMO.

If I got my hands on a load of old pennies (or any denomination of coin for that matter) there's no way I could sell them in bulk without searching them first.

Imagine letting go of an 09 S VDB for 10 dollars...

Just doesn't seem possible

Rest in Peace

If it sounds too good to be real, it probably is.

Get to know people here.

Somebody on this forum has what you want. Find them and reach a mutually beneficial arrangement for what you desire.

I've made a number of purchase from members here and with each deal I have become more confident in doing deals on CCF. If you have any questions about a deal, you can always ask opinions of other members before you consummate it.

Sure, there are bad apples everywhere, but this site stands heads and shoulders above ebay.

Here is my suggestion. If you live in a large city just go to all the banks you can find and buy bags of coins. Then next find laundromats and ask the owners if they would sell you their coins.
