Today I went to the Woodlands Coin show.
First I have to say its the smallest show I have been to.
there were 9 dealers.
Pickings for Morgans as usual were great. There were a fair number of people selling silver to the dealers while I was there but not getting what I would call a fair price.
I sold a couple of 50D Jefferson's to a dealer I have not seen before.
He knows his stuff and does not care what PCGS write on the slabs he paid me a fair price for the three Jefferson's he bought. If you are looking for properly graded Jefferson's then I would recommend TNT coins of Richardson TX
Pickings for my 2 Cent purchases were slim and it was not helped by the fact I am being recognized now at the shows. I did find three coins pics to follow once my server is back on line.
I paid grey sheet bid on all three for the correct grade. Two came from an independant collector who was sharing a table with a dealer. He did not argue over my asigned grade and was more then happy to sell at bid. The third was marked VF30 but only made F12/15 by my reckoning. The dealer sold it to me for F12 money maybe just to be rid of me...

I took a few of my higher grade 2 Cents along. Of all the dealers I got the same story. Ask if they have any high grade 2 Cents for sale and they will tell you that they are hard to find and sell for a premium over retail. When you pull out some PCGS MS65reds and say "what will you give me for this". out comes the grey sheet and bid or slightly less is offered. This from that same people who have just told you that they can sell them for over retail. I don't mind people making a profit but but buying a coin for $135 and selling for $300 plus robbery..

Just one guy from Royal Coins of Houston offered me better than grey sheet and he was up front about being able to sell for significantly more.
