It's in rough shape, can't post pics. Lots of flatter wear marks on the obverse, Liberty can be read, but the "L" is almost non-existent. The "i" is really worn but definitely there. Reverse looks better than the obv, but still circulation flattening. I've offered $4 so far. How much would you spend on a coin of this description? I know not having pictures is a pain in the butt, yet I've seen it and I want it, it's probably about VG grade. No real contact marks, just the flattening from circulation.

I think you have hit the maximum already. Numismedia has this coin at $5 in G4 grade.

Edit: If you think it's VG, I still probably wouldn't go more than $4. You could get a better grade for just a little more probably.

If you think it's VG, $4 is a good price. However, why purchase one for such a low price when you can spend a little more and get a higher-grade specimen?

You've been given excellent advice. Save a few more bucks for a nicer example.

As I stated in my earlier post, a higher grade Liberty Head nickel shouldn't cost too much more. Personally, I'd save my money for one in high AU at the lowest - under $100. For just over $100 you can get a low MS example, and even a Proof for about $200 - $400.

The 12-D is not a key or semi-key coin . There are many out there on e-Bay that are in better condition and not that expensive .

I like it, it is rough though. You don't think it's at least good?

It's a piece of junk. Do not buy it. Pay at least $10 - $50 and get one in better condition.
