And you thought that the Denver mint's last "no D" cent was 1922 . . .

Missing mint marks aren't often noticed. Some are as they had to be there for certain years. 1922-D was one of them. But because it is missing because of a grease strike, added no premium for this one.A few other years they mint marks were left off and are collectables:

Yep, it's a worthless Greaser

I posted this after another post highlighted a spurious 1922-D "no D" that was actually a weak D. I did it just to illustrate that there are tons of "no D" and "weak D" cents out there. In the teens and twenties, Denver was notorious for weakly struck cents and nickels, grease-filled dies, over-polished dies and overworked dies. Any date other than 1922 is a nothingburger.

Now if this critter had been born three years earlier . . .
