Can someone tell me what I have here? Is this a error or Cud? It's directly under the 1 in 1981. Worth anything?

It's hard to say from these pics. could be a drop of sotter. can you show the rim on that area if you can with the raised spot in view?

With pictures of the rim, looks like the rim took a hit which caused that area on the edge to popup. PMD

Let's try it this way. My diagram shows a die, the area on the outside is called a rim offset, duh, makes the rim. if that area took a hit, had stray material in it, that would cause this, a die dot, not Cud. Cuds ar die breaks, from cracks forming. A dot is more a chip, but round.

One final thought. it may have been crud on the collar that imprinted the ridges, pused material upwards on this coin from damage previously.

It looks like an edge ding, so PMD. I see it quite often and how small hits push metal inward and upward on the rim.
