I have recently found a 2000 Lincoln Penny that is smooth on both sides. All of the characters are visible but it looks like an over polished die mistake on both sides of the coin. Upon further inspection I noticed whT looks like something else stamped within the original image. Last I found there is an extra set of lips directly behind the first set. Does anyone know anything about this coin?

If you can get pictures of the areas where you see the error on the lips, that would be very helpful. Here's the link to the tutorial on how to upload pictures. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum...g-images.asp

to the forum!
Without pictures, we could guess that it is an elongated cent. If we could see images of the coin, we could tell if it was an error, like a Grease Filled Die or something else.
