Sharper photos would help, but it certainly doesn't look brand new from these shots. to the CCF!

Uh, looks like a U.S. one cent coin; ? Not sure it "looks brand new"; I checked a couple of these from my change, obviously NOT 1944, but the 1944 sure looks worn compared to my pocket change one cent coins. IMHO edit to correct spelling

From these pictures, it does not look new, it was probably improperly 'cleaned' at some point in the recent past. If however, it is looking 'brand new', you shouldn't touch the surfaces of the coin with your bare hands. The oils will turn the color from that new red color to brown and leave fingerprint spots. Worse case scenario would be to hold it by the edges with your hands.

Not mint state, so not brand new. In fact, it's heavily worn down to F-12. It's worth about 5 cents. 1944 is common coin and readily available in mint state like this:

Am I the only one who sees a steel-looking coin? Maybe it looks "brand new" because it was plated.
