2002 P Dime With A Crack

Just joined so I'm new at this. I just found a dime with a crack all the way across the back and the date looks like a DD. Am I correct2002-P-Dime-With-A-Crack

The line looks incuse. (sunk into the coin) It looks like someone cut the coin. If it were a die crack it would be raised above the the fields and devices.

This is as large a blowup I can get. You can see the DD on the left side and the crack splits in two at the bottom.

Sorry that is coin damage. If it were a die crack on the 'E' area the crack would have been on the field an to tops of the devices. it is not. Just someone cut it with a box knife. PSD (Post-Strike-Damage)

I tried a razer blade on a dime to see what it looked like. It looks differant.

Your razor blade scratch looks very similar to the damage. What you have is damage on the coin, most likely by a razor blade. It is NOT a die crack or any form of mint error.

Remember - die cracks are raised, while scratches are incuse.

BTW, why are you scratching up your coin if you think it's valuable?
