I think that the lettering of the coin on right is smaller than the 68 on the left. Also noticed that the E in Elizabeth is closer to the bust on the coin on the left. Enough for a variety?

I am having trouble seeing it... we could be looking at coins struck by different die states (fresh versus old). You would need to do transparent overlays with mint-state examples, to provide that two different master dies (matrixes) were used.

I increased your pictures by 300% and measured the letters,
they are both the same size.
As far as the distance from the "E" goes, I think one is worn
more than the other as you can't see the small fold on the dress
or as SPP says, they may be different die states.
I would have to say they are both the same

The distance to the bust and die wear is a thought I had considered as well. I'll have to check measurements of letters. They just seem smaller but could be wrong. This is the reverse of coins. The leaf bud is considerably larger on one but again not sure if dies are to blame.

Hflirn I did some checking. if you want to know where the difference is your 2 coins. one of them match the obverse from the 1969 issue. the other one is the mate to 1968 obverse. I do not know for sure. but they had to use the same die for 1969 and 1968 so there had to be 2 different dies for 1968. again thank you very much for the tip. but let the experts sort this out for all members.
