I know that it will be a little hard to get much of the ridges in focus. So far, I'm agreeing with @buddy that it looks like environmental toning rather than a copper planchet. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/16/2018 12:48 pm We see a lot of these all the rim. The coin was normal, spent some time outdoors for a while. Usually a metal detector find: Just one of the many found. If you carry it in your pocket for a while, then the highest points of the coin will wear off the color and you will be able to see the cladding again. You may want to take images of it from time to time to see how it turns back into a silver color, but they start to look antiqued. Some like the look. Report this Post to the Staff
