Hi CCF
I have obtained this coin
1927 AUST PARLIAMENT HOUSE FLORIN MELBOURNE
and the information with the Coin states
gEF-aUNC SILVER COIN - Downies

Just needing some confirmation, would anyone
agree with the grading and would it have any value?
The coin is still sealed in plastic.

I appreciate any feedback, still novice and learning
all the time
Thanks

Bit hard to tell from the photos but the grade looks to be in the right ball-park.

From what I can see yes all the high points look right. Might be a tiny bit of wear but cant be sure. Higher than intrinsic value yes it would have, although less extreme than other un circulated coins due to the fact there is alot more of these floating around in good nick. Not sure if trout is around, pretty sure he has some gem 1927 florins.

Thanks ryurazu,
I appreciate your feedback. I am currently learning about coins, wow so much to know.
The sites that I have looked at currently had a lot on the Canberra Florin, haven't seen much
with the Melbourne. Reading from CCF members I have seen that Trout loves the Canberra
Florins, correct me if I am wrong. Thanks again

Agree with IndianGoldEagle, might have had a mild clean. At anything less than Unc it is only worth a few dollars above bullion (maybe $10) as there are many thousands at aUnc out there and a few thousand (minimum) in decent Unc condition with over 500 in MS PCGS slabs, a fair few in NGC, some in other graders slips and slabs and at least as many again raw. Trout does love Canberra florins, though he has sold a fair few (I have 2 of his nicer Canberras in my top 20 box) and Trout is now a Grey Nomad.

It's a tricky coin to grade for me, I have a quantity of them but none are amazing.
Some have pretty toning and it gives them appeal.

The usual things are look for three clearly visible steps on parliament house and absolutely no wear on the scepters,
however it's not that simple - this is a complex design and there is more to it than that.

There is a resident expert on this coin here - he will know.
