Looking through my collection, I have some non-PCGS slabbed coins, that I've thought about and debated about submitting to PCGS for crossover slabbing/regrade. From the experience of those here, what results have you had? Have they crossed at the same or better grade? -are you satisfied ? Thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Thanks and best regards.

There's no way to answer this. You could have a 100 coins that would all cross of 5k coins that would never.
The only general statement you can say is crossover is the hardest grading they do, if they have any doubt it won't cross. A lot of people prefer to break the coins out and submit them raw when they have good candidates

Another consideration, cost of slabbing again. Is it worth it?
IMHO, unless there is a STRONG chance at an upgrade, or auction prices for "brand X" is considerably better than "brand Y", I would not grade again.

Am I correct? PCGS and NGC will only do crossovers of each others coins. And since they dislike each other more than they used to, crossovers are not a good idea. All other TPG's are treated as raw coins. In fact they should be cracked out and submitted as raw.

.....and PCGS will only crossover at same grade or lower. If I'm wrong please correct me. Unless there some big upside to crossing, I'd leave them exactly where they are. It can get expensive, unless they are running a special, which isn't very often.

In other words you cannot say to only cross it if it upgrades. With that said, if they decide it is worthy of an upgrade they will. You aren't limited to that grade or designation but you can't say to only cross it if it upgrades either

Not higher population but the crossovers do help them in more than one way. The obvious way is that they're getting paid for the service. The other main way though is that it's a double win for them because they just got a nice coin out of a competitors holder and into their own. They want the best coins in their own holders which by default would leave junkie looking ones in the competitors and hurt their business.

Saying higher population was not accurate. Thank you for helping me clarify that.
