Went to the regular monthly coin club meeting tonight and won the 1 oz silver door prize just for showing up. Then I was the auctioneer and bought these two 90% silver 1982 Wash Proof commemorative halves for $5.50 each and the 72 Blue Ike for $7.00. The Brown Ike's were $9.00 so I passed. This Ike is flawless. I should have bought all that were there but there were no 73's. This one looked the best out of the 5. They said I did OK for a stand in auctioneer as the regular guy wasn't there.

I'm picturing you behind the podium,"do I have $5.50?", running back into the crowd, "right here", back to the podium, dropping the hammer, "Sold". Good story. Nice coins.

They are known for their quality. There was a paradigm shift between 1971 and 1972. The brown box Ikes were priced to sell compared with ebay prices. I would have scrutinized every 71-S and looked for toners. Congrats on your silver win.

Upon further review, the IKE does have a round milk spot or something between E and R in LIBERTY. The flash in my own picture brought me to notice it. Still ....
