My shot at a cause of damage .It was held in a vise or wedged in something and shot at with a small caliber weapon.Almost missed lt with a 22 and resulting in a divot?

Or squeezed in a vise. a bullet would not bend the coin in half.

As I'm looking at my pics here and the coin in front of me I broke out the micrometer and the coin is not in any way squished at all so it would have had to be sandwiched by two objects the bottom object was the template that it took form to just like a mint strike the top object had to be pretty close to identical to the bottom object but placed on top with leverage instead of wileight because the penny would have gotten crushed by the weight of the object alone another thing that can mimic minting impressions would have to be heat or melting if the penny was heated on top of an object would it take it shape with out pressure or weight applied but then also there would be some type burn markings I would think hey I'm not a rocket scientist but I am definatly a rocket man lol imagination motivation creation reavelation
