Did a little research online and haven't been able to find out if the double ear is on the Log Cabin, Log Splitter, or
any of them?. Lots of pictures of the double ear but no reverse pics.
Maybe I'm not looking in the right place but hoping someone can help me out.
Thank You
Rest in Peace

I don't know where you got the idea of a doubled ear on the 2009's P OR D. There is mention of a class 6 distorted hub on a few affecting the hair and beard thickness but mostly it is LIBERTY and date that is affected. No rotated hub or central squeeze to effect that.

It's on the Denver Log Cabin (WDDO-001).

Edit:

There's also a Philadelphia Log Cabin (WDDO-005).

The one in Coop's doubled ear graphics is Philadelphia Log Splitter (WDDO-009). The pics on Wexler's site don't show the doubled ear.

Thanks guys. I'm still confused.

What is the 2009 WDDO-009 Class VIII that is on the double ear images by Jason Cuvelier that Coop and others have posted on here ?
Rest in Peace

From coppercoins. This is described as beard thickness and doesn't even mention the ear, go figure, I see very slight doubling of the ear in JC's pic, that is more pronounced in the beard.

2009P-1DO-009
| CLASS 9 (MDS)
CONECA: UNKNOWN | Crawford:CDDO-010
Wexler: WDDO-009 | FS#:UNKNOWN
coin photographed is credited to Bob Piazza.
Formative Years Design (LP2): Strong extra thickness and some minor notching to the southeast of the letters of LIBERTY. Nice extra thick hair and beard details, as well as elongation to the 2 of the date.

Yup, That's the one crazybO. Strange they don't mention it. That arrow is pointing right at his ear and it looks doubled. Guess I need to find one to figure out what is really going on. Thanks for the help folks.

Thank you Tanman2001. I was hoping it was the Log Splitter. Searched a couple unc. boxes of these and at the time didn't know about the double ear. Will have to go back through a few.

I don't see a listing for this on the files from John Wexler's site for a doubled ear. Maybe he removed it later, and replaced the die number with a different die?
