I see a normal 1982 large date copper cent. The devices look like that on all of the LD copper cents.

I've seen another example that maybe a bit fresher die coin than yours. But it was the same thing. The finder thought it was a doubled die also:

Yeah, I see why. Where do you find photos of "normal" coins to compare against?

I usually use PCGS site. On their tool bar, there is a click on for 'Coinfacts'. It lists 6,000 pixel wide images on some of them I used to enlarge them even bigger and get close up shots for doubled die or normal coins to make sides by sides with. That is my first choice. Second choice is Heritage Auctions. They have nice images as well, but the PCGS images are a bit larger. http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/Hopefully you can link with it. (sometimes other sites will not work on the forum)

I think they are experiencing "technical difficulties".

You have to adjust the click on feature to one that is slabbed already, The tabs at the top of the page has 3-4 tabs. Change that and see if they have it in red. (That is the one I prefer to used.) Sometimes no one slabs common coins. But they will slab high grade coins. I clicked on the red tab, (right side) If you look at the image with the obv/rev showing, (PCGS #146036 (MS, Red) 67+ Download Full Size) then click to get the largest image. Try that. 1982-D Small date copper: (Looks like a zinc one to me?)

I got it. Nice. Thanks. It looks as if they might have gotten the images switched.
