*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***John Wexler's doubleddie.com was updated today and I noticed a 2018 coin in the recent updates list. The coin is a Philadelphia-minted Pictured Rocks quarter with the strongest doubled die obverses on a quarter we've seen in a long time.

Yeah, it's not as strong as the 1970-D or 1976-D DDOs of the multiple squeeze era. But when was the last time we've seen a quarter
DDO that wasn't a tiny doubled ear? 1999! And that was a proof strike, so we're not finding that one CRHing. It's also a very strong doubled die for the single squeeze era, I don't have it in hand, but I bet it would be as easy to spot with the naked eye as the 2015 1¢ DDO-001 (arguably the strongest single squeeze DD to have doubling on the outer lettering of the coin.).
I found a similar one last year on a 2016-P Harper's Ferry however, it is not as strong as the 2018 one. There's notching on the upper right of the G and T in IGWT and very strong extra thickness on LIBERTY. I sent it to Wexler but I haven't heard back yet.

It might be worth checking the obverse of the
ATB Quarters for doubled dies now, it seems like there may be some very strong ones yet to be discovered.
Also since this is the first doubled die of 2018, and it's a pretty significant one, do you think this year is going to be a good one for doubled dies? Last year was a bust with the doubled working hubs on cents and no significant DDs. (I'm just hoping to be the one to discover the next big one)
