*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***

I was looking through a bunch of pennies, and wondering if there is something other than a Mint Stamp that would seperate one mint from the other.
Rest in Peace

The Philadelphia mint did not put a mint mark on the vast majority of the coins they have struck. Do you have a specific question.

The only thing I know of is the mintmark - P, D, or S - that shows where the coin is made. P is Philadelphia, PA, D is Denver, CO, and S is San Francisco, CA.

If there is no mintmark, the coin was minted in Philadelphia, PA.

I was looking at a price guide, they showed a 1990 S with no mint mark. Suppose to be worth a lot. Me learning. how could I tell the difference.

The 90-S no MM is a proof coin. It will have a mirror background and a frosted foreground.
