So I just picked up a box of nickels from my local bank and came across a double headed nickel. I did research online to see that majority are fakes. Well this coin does not have the signs of being counterfiet. No tig weld marks or grind marks on the side, the edges aren't flat, so now its time to solve this mystery..

You can start by providing photos of the coin.

Look at the face of the coin that is in your second photo. There is a gouge in the field in front of Jeffersons eye.
If you look where the field meets the rim you may see a line where this face of the coin was put into a cup made from another coin
Rest in Peace

Either there is a seam on the edge or you will see a cut around the inside of the rim on one side. Two coins milled to fit together!

Irrelevant, when made you can snap it in in any direction. Did you watch the video I linked above?

I did..and you can easily tell if the coin has been worked on or not, especially with that method. If you see the images above you can see that has not been done to this coin.

This is obvious..even without a magnifying glass you can tell its two coins, with my coin it appears to be one coin unaltered.

Yes, it has. The seam is microns inside the rim on this side.... You can see the legends and date run into (or almost into) the rim because the rim has been sliced off that coin so it could be the insert.

You can tell on the video coin because it's two different size, material, and color coins. Yours is a nickel in a nickel which makes it darn near invisible.

It is usually concealed on the rim of the coin. This one makes it show as a double rim:

You can buy these at magic shops.
