I recently picked up this 199? off-center Memorial cent in a group of U.S. coins and was wondering what a coin like this typically sells for.

Thanks for any information.

Error coins are hard to put a price on - I know this isn't an answer but really it's what people will pay for it. I've seen them on ebay like yours go between 5 & 15 dollars.

That's a hard one. Not sure on the value, but you can check ebay's sold value on similar Off Center coins. For example, my 20 percent Off Center LMC from 1999 is worth about 20 dollars (Checked ebay's sold values). I would say your coin is worth about 15 dollars.

Since yours lacks an identifiable date, I'd say $15 tops, likely less.
Rest in Peace

I think it would be lower -- around $8.

It's a nice pick-up but I worry about the zincolns deteriorating. Keep it safe and dry.

I'm the contrarian here Paul ... I've seen buckets of these non-date identifiable off center LMC for sell at shows for asking prices in the $3 to $4 range.

If it had a full date ... then concur with the higher prices suggested.

While not extraordinarily valuable without the date, I think these are really cool to own. My wife pulled one from her register years ago, kept it....and low and behold, married a coin guy! Guess it's more sentimental to me than anything, but these are keepers!

With a date will be worth more, without a date worth less. Check ebay sold values and you will get an idea of current retail value.

I have a few of these. I picked them out of a dealer's junk box in Sydney, for $5 each. Pennies and dimes, mostly.
About the same amount of gross off center strike.
