Either it is a poor imitation of a Central/South Asian language or a northern Indian dialect script I don't recognize. A token most likely, not coin, fantasy perhaps?

Nope, not token, and I am fairly certain it is not a counterfiet.

It is a 1 paisa piece from Nepal. The first picture is upside-down, but the date written on it looks to be 1970 (which is in the Vikram Samvat calendar). That would be around 1913 in the Gregorian calendar.
