Second, while I can't tell by your pic whether you have a cent from 2000 or 2004, it is most likely that this coin was struck from a die that had some grease in the crevices for the last digit in the date. No numismatic premium for this minor error. The surface staining makes me wonder whether the copper plating has broken down exposing the zinc core. I'd spend this cent before it really starts to disintegrate.
