This one hasn't arrived yet so I don't have the size and weight yet AR Drachm Sasanian Pretender King Hormizd VI 631-632 AD WYHC mint Hormizd VI was a pretender that ruled from Nisibis after the death of Khosrau II. He was a grandson of Khosrau II. The coin is a bit ratty around the edge, but this is a rare type.

Impressive coin, Ron. The edge chipping doesn't detract much at all. Congrats on picking up a rarity...very nice.

Very nice, very strong. Clipping gives it a bit of originally, rather than a distraction.

That's a nice example. I picked this up from a junk lot(for next to nothing), Is it the same coin?. I never bothered to attribute it since A - I know nothing about Sasanian coinage & B. It's in pieces. Is getting it repaired worth it and does it hurt the value? How about Crazy glue?

TC your coin appears to be Khosrau II.

Quote: am a crazy gluing this? I don't think that glue will hold it as the coin is too thin. You could try brazing the pieces together (@finn or @crazyb0 was selling a gold Byzantine scyphate like that a while back). I can't imagine that there is much numismatic value left regardless of what you do to it.

I wouldn't bother trying to glue it. Coins of Khurso II are plentiful and you can buy a nice one for around $30 or so.

The previous owner had scotch tape on it and I'm afraid to remove it for fear of damaging it further.Leaving it as is.
