Without much else to do at the moment, I decided to send (photos of) some of my coins for attribution/identification here. This one is an Islamic AE, 32-33 mm, about 4.0 grams (I've misplaced my electronic scale again, so this is a ruler-balance estimate). Any ideas what this might be? I've searched on Zeno a few weeks ago, and found several similar types, but I have completely forgotten what they were, there was nothing that looked like an exact match, and I sadly cannot get Zeno to open for me today. Sorry for the awful photo quality (smartphone camera on flash).

Saudi? J1M, I'd hate to see your apartment! You're always misplacing things, must be worse than my garage!

Definitely not the one you linked. No square around the legend, and far too tiny. (If anything, it's a much better fit for my second coin.)
Also, I'm about 92% sure that this coin isn't silver (though I suppose it might be low-end billon). The photos are lightened due to the flash; in hand it's darker.

It's a "broad dirham" of Central Asian fabric, circa 12th-13th century. These were struck in silvered billon by the Qarakhanids, Khwarizmshahs, Mongols and others. I will update if something more specific comes to mind.

Qarakhanids, Rukn al-Din Muhammad bin Mas'ud, 1171-1179, AE dirham, type of Samarqand, dated AH [57]3(?). Album 3401. The center legend in the first photo recites the Muslim Kalima with the name of the 'Abbasid caliph al-Mustadi below. The central square of the second image names the ruler: Tafghaj / al-khaqan al-a'dil al-'azam Rukn / al-Dunya wa al-Din / Muhammad bin Qilij / Khan. ("The just and mighty Khaqan, Pillar of the World and of the Faith, Muhammad son of [Mas'ud] Qilij Tafghaj Khan"). Only the digit of the date (written out in words) is visible in the margin; thelath "3" is my best guess. Compare: https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=46419

Thanks! It seems to fit in the 1170s, so I just dropped it into the Walking Back by Decades thread
