Don't you have any sore of a Coinstar machine there? That's what I do. When I get boxes of pennies when CRHing I..

Get the $25 box, bring it home start hunting.
Duplicate dates in inferior quality coppers(1959-1981's including the copper 82's) I put in my Copper Box where all my ugly copper coins go to collect hopefully a ton of copper in 20 years.
If I run into an 1982 I flip it in the air hard till it chimes to listen to hear if it's copper. If it is it goes into my Copper Box.
Pretty older copper memorial cents(like near uncirculated+ condition) I keep in a special place to collect.
All Wheaties or older as long as they are in G8 or better condition are put in my Wheaties sash(counting 61 so far.)
I alos look through to see major errors albeint ennefectively because I pnly posses a 20X magnification Magnifying Glass. Any error I keep or those special Counterpunched state 1974 pennies I keep.
Every other penny 1982 or later that's not an error or in mint condition or copper or proofs just ugly boring Zinc's get's put in a coffe can to go back into a coinstar so I can get a cash voucher. Usually I only have to put 22 dollars of reject pennies back which quates to 20 net from the machine. Then I add my chump money in the form of 5 dollars to that and get another box of pennies. Rinse and repeat.

I've paid for gas several times with rolled halves. (I don't search boxes......only customer wrapped rolls). My boxes of nickels I dump at the bank I get them at....sort of. I've managed to get them to swap out my returned boxes of nickels for "fresh" sealed boxes. I use 3 branches so I can usually get 4-6 boxes a week. There's never been a problem because they know I also pull out all the foreign & never short change them. I'm also a source for nickels if they ever run short.

I don't think I'd fuss with taking coins to businesses either. I'd just go to a different branch than where you received the coins and dump them there. Might sound crazy but I bank at Comerica, Bank of America, PNC and Chase just so I have options of where I get my coins and where I dump them. Chase has a pretty good deal for veterans where there's no cost for accounts and you get some pretty good perks on the side.

Do you use chase to get coins or dump? Or both?

Do you have to re roll coins that you dump at Chase?

Any other pros or cons, or things I may want to know about Chase?

I gave thought about opening an account at Chase. Right now they have a special where I can get a "free" $500 if I open an account and meet some criteria. Seems like a good deal.

It is not crazy. Actually, I think it is very smart. I too use four banks... Wells, Chase, U.S. Bank, and BofA. I have checking/savings accounts at three of them, and a credit card account at the other which usually allows me to purchase at their branches.

Do you use chase to get coins or dump? Or both? I started using Chase to just get a box of nickels every now and then. You can purchase and return up to $100 without having an account. I finally walked in with $300 and opened a basic savings account but the banker said there's plenty of benefits for veterans. I might switch to Chase for all my banking eventually.

Do you have to re roll coins that you dump at Chase? I always re-roll my coins, no matter where I return them.

Any other pros or cons, or things I may want to know about Chase? No cons from what I can see for a veteran.

At the Walmart close to me there is a small branch of US Bank inside the store (2 tellers). They don't have rolls of dollars or halves available, but often have a number of loose coins, usually 10 to 30 dollars worth.
When I first enter the store I pass by and get all the coins they have (they're happy to get rid of them), then look to see if there is anything interesting in the mix.
I'm currently putting together a set of Kennedy half dollars and have been able to get most of the circulation coins from them. Also, I've been able to set aside a lot of the different dollar coins.
When I'm ready to check out, I go to the self checkout and pay with any of the coins that I'm not going to take home with me.

Both. The branches where I've had good luck with CWR I use as pickup banks, the ones where I haven't had such good luck I use as dump banks.

The coins I turn in are always rolled by me. I always re-use the same rolls I got when buying them. I usually weigh my rolls to check for accuracy.

Some of the branches don't have large vaults, so they can't handle large volumes of coin at one time. Others have no such problems.
