Got this from a person I do business with. I'm thinking a solid 64. Some light scuff/scratches on the cheek. Fields pretty clean and strike above average for the year. Beautiful reverse toning. Your thoughts on grade and toning? Can take more pics later today if needed.

Looks 62/63 from what I can see. Besides the scratches on the cheek, the face seems scuffed pretty badly.

I'd like to see straight-on larger pics if that's possible.

It is no worse than a 63. Here's better pics. The marks on cheek aren't deep and can only been seen at certain angles.

I think it's a 63. 64 would have a tiny bit more breast detail imo. The obverse looks beautiful in the first pic, like a 64, but the reverse brings it down.
Rest in Peace

Yea 1891 is known for inconsistent strikes. Some have nice obverses and weak reverses, and vice versa. My main concern would be if PCGS would questionable color the coin....They have been tending to do a lot more QC to coins lately.

The color on the toning look natural but my question is how did it get the toning pattern? It is not album toning, wood toning, end roll, bag or envelope toning. If PCGS can not identify the source of the color pattern and color progression, they will AT the coin. This is not a coin I would buy raw or crack out with the intent to send in for grading because it has a strong chance to grade AT.
