Hi,new to this site. I came across this 1995 nickel and the belly looks strange, in that I mean you can see the edges of horizontal lines on the belly. Any ideas on how this would occur. Appreciate any comments.

Probably a die damage or bad polishing of die.

Roro57 welcome to the forum. I see what you are talking about on your coin. that is not be die wear or polishing. those extra marks. those would have had to be on the die itself. or they would not be there on the coin. so yes that is and error coin.

The lines underneath the area in question seem to match the lines of a "full"1990 bare belly.Interesting. This is from CoinsandCanada.com . Good eye Roro57 and
