*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Last Saturday I posted about a penny my wife got in change from J.C. Penny. http://goccf.com/t/315465 Today she comes home from Walmart and tells me she got another old penny in change. This is what she hands me. I haven't gotten anything even close to this in change for more than 50 years, and she comes up with 2 in one week. The stores are about 4 miles apart, and the odds of her getting 2 wheaties in this condition in one week have to be astronomical. I don't think she's playing a joke on me because she really isn't interested in collecting and would have no idea where to buy them. Any ideas how this could be happening? I'm dumbfounded. I think a child living within a two mile radius of those two stores has gotten into their parent's Whitman album. Now excuse me whilst I go check my Lincoln Cent books . . .

Nice.
It may have been from a collection but I think a lot of non-collectors have a few coins for whatever reason and they eventually end up in circulation again.
Glad it found a good home.

A true back into circulation story. My Dad was a Postmaster, so back in the 60's, he saw a lot of old coins,(years later to be valuable),of many denominations on a daily basis and he knew enough to put them aside. The local owner of a bowling alley called my Dad to inform him that his son was spending very old coins, the owner put a halt to the spending spree until my Dad could correct the situation. It was never confirmed as to just how many coins where put back into circulation, the coins that survived are now in my collection, my Dad still lives on.

Lots of Grandpa and grandma savings hitting the street. This is also true at Good Will and Salvation Army stories. Real antiques hitting in droves. Bought four working Gold pocket watches last week for $20 each. Congratulations on those wheaties

I think you need to head to the casino with your wife for a bit. And get a few lottery tickets while you're at it.

Nice find, I find often is not young people spend a collectable money, unless it a kid who doesn't know, its usally people who have forgotten they had this in their wallets or have been hand something they have no idea about.
