Looks more like die wear lines on the bottom edges of the devices. The tops of UNITED are showing die wear towards the rim. So that maybe the issue with the corners in question. But instead of notching, they are raised above the corners of the devices. (die wear indicated)

From that angle it looks like MD on the bottoms of the devices.
