1932 Netherlands 10 Gulden- Grade Help Please It looks better in hand then in the pics. Very shiny. Basically impossible for me to not have iPhone reflected on coin. The pics are at an extremely high resolution though so all flaws etc would be visible. Assistance with grade and/or value would be awesome. Along with any thoughts or feelings about the coin. Thank you.

Looks like MS63 to me, but I am not very familiar with this coin. Nice gold coin for sure.

No wear on the hair or crown band so definitely MS. A little baggy on the face, but not too bad. MS63 for me, in hand it could rise to MS64.
A nice coin.

Thank you all.
Any thoughts or feelings about value? Is it worth getting graded?
Thanks again.

Strictly a bullion coin, made as backing to the paper note issue. Last date for this series 1933, when The Netherlands came off the gold standard, as did a very large number of other countries at this time. It never circulated, which explains why it is in a mint state condition. Low MS coins are not much above bullion value.
Nevertheless, If you don't have an extensive collection in which this coin can take it's place, it is still worth getting slabbed anyway, just to protect it. Gold is soft.

sel_691 thank you. I learned some history as well.
Very interesting. I never see them locally. I may have to pick up another one day.

I am not sure why you would need to pay to have it slabbed just to protect it. You can easily get a hard plastic holder for under $1.

Very true oriole. $1 is a lot cheaper than $20 plus to have NGC/PCGS put it into a slab.

I would agree with that. I have a few gold coins in pristine MS condition, that I keep in appropriately sized ex British Royal Mint acrylic screw capsules, originally for proof coins. I can get them for 50 cents each, from my LCS. Coins include: St Gaudens Double Eagle 1937 British Five Pounds proof 1991 Australian platinum one ounce bullion coin.

Look at the Premium Coin Holders from Coin World, they are the same size as the TPG slabs and are an attractive holder, with room for a label if you want one.
