*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***

Good day to all. I was getting ready to throw this one in the recycle jar and then I looked at the placement of the partial 0. Looks a bit low for either a small or large date. And maybe a worn die contributed. The date is not incuse. What does ya all think. Rich Happy Friday

If the weight of the coin is normal, it might be a struck through debris that fell off the coin. Or it might be a Struck Through Grease. If it is slightly lighter I might be a lamination issue. But not a premium for the coin to add much extra value.

Agree - whatever the reason, it's just a "recycle" candidate.

I'm respectfully not in agreement of spending it. I think it's a keeper and it's a nice find. It was probably Struck Through Grease. I'd save it and label the error in a 2x2 coin flip.

You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles.

Why Topic Titles are Important

The title of your topic is very important. Let's say you need help attributing an 1896 Morgan Dollar....

  • Horrendous: Help!

  • Bad: Need help with coin

  • Better: Need help with Morgan Dollar

  • Good: Need help with 1896 Morgan Dollar

  • Awesome: Need help with VAM on 1896 Morgan Dollar

This enables the members with expertise pertaining to your question to easily find and answer your question. The title of the topic also becomes the title of the topic's web page, which enables us to attract more collectors to the site. The more members we have, the more we learn.

I think Crazy is joking about the fact that no 1966-D LMCs were ever made.

It's worth face value. Looks like a 1960-D.

Actually all four mints struck coins that year. All coins were plain cents. Philly, Denver, San Francisco and West Point. Totals from from 3 mints, the WP coins were added into Philly mints totals. My computer is not working to get on line right now. I have the total for thre three mints and the SMS cents.
