I see it as having been dipped. The surfaces are dull and lifeless.
If I'm correct then a grade is of only minor importance.

Not so sure. Tell us about the luster, please!

it could be the lighting, but I am leaning toward dipped.

Looks like it may have luster, and I don't see any wear. I'd say a solid MS-64.

I think the photo lighting is hiding the luster this coin actually has. It may also be hiding some surface marks. Any chance of getting some better photos posted?

Thanks for the replies! It was very tricky to photograph I always find Peace dollars the most non-photogenic. It might have had a dip at some point but there is still decent luster and almost no surface marks. I've packed it up for PCGS with high hopes (probably optimistic) and will report back.

If I'm correct then a grade is of only minor importance. You're completely wrong about that. Those surfaces aren't dull which you can tell from the picture and how to read a picture and properly dipping is not a bad thing and you guys need to stop trying to push the idea that it is.

64 obv / 62 rev, net 63. Obverse might even have a shot at 65.
I can see this in either a 63 or 64 PCGS slab.

The original surface texture of the whole coin is still all there. Maybe a strike from worn dies. This sort of surface texture normally goes with full mint luster, which in these pictures, is not all there, but a lot of it remains.
Usual weak lettering above the eagle.
I am going to ignore the less than full mint luster as seen in these pictures. In this case, MS64.
