I'm still using Seaby's 1966 Second Edition and am planning to upgrade to something more recent as 50 year old books are really not that relevant when it comes to pricing. Plus, it is a wicked pain trying to figure out what fraction of a Pound is made up by such and so many Shillings and Pence. Who abbreviates Pence with "d." anyway?

I'm specifically thinking about Vecchi's Fourth Edition, despite the cost and the expansion to a three volume set. I know that it hasn't published yet, but maybe someone here got an advanced copy to review or contributed to these books? I'd love to get a little feedback from you. Is worth it or I should save my money and get Sear's (two volume) Third Edition? Or is there some other book that you find to be a better resource for Ancient Greek coins?

Any help or thoughts would be super. Thx!

Johnnie Smythe, son of James, who else!

YOU did ask..., just they aren't very deep today!

They also refer to nails as 16d, 8d, calling them an eight -penny nail, etc. Then the carpenter I worked for years ago told me it was how much they cost per pound tears ago...don't know?
