Picked these both up today for a great price and was wondering how you guys would grade them? We can refer to the coins as coin 1 for the first one here and coin two for the second.

Coin 1:

1853-And-1854-Large-Cents-For-Grading
1853-And-1854-Large-Cents-For-Grading

Coin 2:

1853-And-1854-Large-Cents-For-Grading
1853-And-1854-Large-Cents-For-Grading
It is not enough to merely enjoy coins; one must Advocate for them!

Your first coin is a problem child to grade by photo only. By the pictures presented the Orange hidden in the tight design elements looks original. However, since the coin grades at 50, at best, the likelihood of original color is negated. Thus

#1 AU, details, cleaned.
#2 Technical Grade 40. Eye Appeal 5/10.

Same, same. Mox's reasoning seems sound here.
