I have a couple of 1970 d quarters that I'm sure are double denomination coins and I wonder if you have one from the same batch

It does appear that they are similar enough to be from the same die.

What other denomination are you seeing?

The two images are the same coin. In order to have a doubled denomination, you would need two different denominations on the same coin:

Actually I am aware of the 1970 S quarter that Mike Byers sold that had been stamped on a 1941 Canadian quarter. And I have a 1970 d quarter that was stamped on a coin from a Latin country Cinco peso. So what I'm saying is that I'm pretty sure that there is another denomination of coin, and I believe a coin from a foreign country, that these coins were struck on.

I'm not seeing anything unusual with the coins.

Like coop said, there is only one coin.

jacksondodge, if you have a 1970 quarter that was stamped on a peso, that would be a more interesting picture for us to see.
Rest in Peace

Okay -- not double denomination at all.

What you believe you have is a US quarter struck on a foreign planchet. Correct?

Knowing the weight will help out with that. Do you have a scale?

While some may consider that coin to be a mint error, it is, in my opinion, mint shenanigans. How in the world does a 29 year old foreign coin end up at the US mint without some assistance? And that's assuming it came out of the US mint. Making counterfeit quarters would not be very profitable -- but counterfeit errors...

Sorry man, but you're just seeing things. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your coin at all. Why do you think it's an error? They just look like stains to me.

Another mint assisted coin error. Double denominations 26 cents.
