As ploopy said in the original post, the 'toning is slightly odd'. Looking again at the original images, although tough to make a call on the color itself, the abruptness of the toning pattern is not natural. Artificially toned, concentrated in the areas that are now shown to be covered in hairlines? NGC simply uncovered what the docs were hiding. You posted a series of coins that had been doctored and graded details. On the coins you posted it was very difficult to find the problem. The OP coin was doctored to cover problems. It is silly to claim that NGC put the hairlines on the coin. I have dipped a number of coins with dark toning that have exposed hairlines that could not be seen before the dip.
