I'm not familiar with these. Not even sure of authenticity. Weight 0.6g; diameter around 16mm. Thanks

On the second picture, I can read "ANCO", which would be the start of Ancona, a name of an Italian Papal State. Your coin fits the design/dimensions of the 1 denaro piece made from 1250 to 1348 pretty well, I would say.

Thanks for the ID! Now I just wonder if it's genuine.

These denari from Ancona have popped up a few times on CCF recently:

They also pop up at auctions regularly.

The reverse legend is PP S QUIRIA CVS(center) for Saint Quiriacus, one of the patron saints of Ancona.

Yes @jospeh7420 nailed it. We have seen this coin type a couple times previously at CCF:

The weight and diameter are fine. What makes you question its authenticity?

Thanks for the links.

The surface texture just has a rather grainy appearance, kind of similar to the coin in the first link above though, so perhaps it's fine. It's likely just my unfamiliarity with the coin.
