Hey everyone, found an interesting coin, I'm guessing Greek, but not sure.

Thanks

Hmmm. Looks like a Lokris issue with Persephone obverse and Ajax reverse. Not sure about authenticity.

@tc, can you please post a pic or two of the edge?

Spence, I wish I could. I don't own the coin, but it's interesting and I would bid on it. Don't know much about Greek coinage though. I like the reverse.

As far as I know, these were issued exclusively in silver. (Although I could be wrong about that) Here are variants of the general type:

Ah ok then, there are enough question marks on this one that I would pass. Is it on ebay?

It is quite similar to what Bob shows for #3, same details.

Yeah it's on ebay. I'm going with the red flags on this one. I just wasn't sure. Bob, I caught an Augustus being offered in copper/bronze but were only made in silver (see pics below).

But I'm a bit more familiar with Roman Coinage.

Much too much similarity with the lettering on a documented fake for me to be comfortable with it:

Reverse lower edge looks like cast lines.
