@rocktowngal, looks like a die crack to me. Based on its location, it might theoretically progress to the point where the edge of the die chipping. If that die was used to strike coins, then they would have a Cud in the region with the missing chunk along the edge.

I agree w/ Spence. I also have a Kennedy (I think 72 or 77) that has a die crack between the T and Y. Cool find none the less.
