Maybe you could show him my coin YouTube videos on my signature line below this message? Numbered 1-5. That will keep him busy for a couple of hours.

Seems like it might qualify as interior die break, judging by examples here. http://cuds-on-coins.com/interior-d...rse-quarter/Anatree, see if you can get nice crisp images of the whole reverse and the area in question. You seem to be very good with a camera! Keep in mind it's probably not going to be super valuable but lots of people are interested in this stuff. I did this up last night versus the US Mint image so might as well post it.

Hi, Thank you so much everyone and thanks to kbbpll for the nice pic:) Below is the email from John Wexler on doubleddie.com (super quick reply how nice of him) The indicated items on the right hand quarter are small die breaks. They are to common to have any real value. Most of the dies for the America the Beautiful Quarters crack or chip at some point due to the high relief of the designs and the constant pound undergone by the quarter dies as they strike about 275,000 coins before being retired from use. I hope that this information helps. John

Thanks for posting that Anatree. I knew it didn't look like the devices in the area, but didn't think of die chips as they often look like someone parked there gum on that area. Not smooth looking. But now we know.

They could mute it. But there is such a wide variety of interests in music, I could see how that comment. could come up. Glad you enjoyed it. I figured your son would get a kick out of it. That is why I recommended it.

Good grief! I only spotted one of them. I went away for business for a couple days, and I came back to see that the coin developed die chip measles!
Anatree, that sure is a fun find.
After comparing your coin to the Shawnee and Cumberland Gap IDBs on Cuds-On-Coins, I think you should submit your pictures. Yours is similar enough that it might qualify for a listing.
Again, good eye for detail and nice find!
