I believe it's MD. If it were DD the devices would be bigger and yours looks to have been made smaller which is where I'm drawing my assumption. I could be wrong though for I am just a newb. Hopefully I am. Good luck though!

Let's go through this, it may help. Here's one of your pix: I've circled angled edge areas and pointed to two "lines" on some devices here. This is MD, two different kinds. MD is the bounce of the die at the time of striking. It may bounce more than once and in different directions. That's what happened here. A shearing bounce shaved the edges off of a standard size letter while a "high bounce" just tapped the top of the device with the edge of the die face.

Take a look again at Wexler's site, the doubling on the WDDR is on the right side of the devices: Quote:
1983 1˘ WDDR-003 "Best Of" Variety
Description: A strong counterclockwise spread from a pivot at 3 o'clock shows on the letters of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE CENT, E PLURIBUS UNUM, the dots, and the lower left Memorial.

Mr. Coop, thank you for the clarifications. I noticed the picture I took last night has a lot of shadow at possible DD area (UNITED, ONE and CENT); light was tuned down to minimum the reflection. I will take some close-up pics at suspicious area with better lighting tonight. Thank you.

When taking images, try to include the same areas as the site uses. Then you can make side by sides to compare them with. Your images and his. Make sure to pit his name on his images if you post them. Copyright issues.

Looks like your N in "united" is wonky like mine.. That's the technical term, right?

Hi NewMember, I am not sure what's the technical term myself. It just stands out under the microscope. I chekced the1983P LMC DDR-2 example in varietyvista.com and found a lot of match! This coin is a little beat up so probably not worth for slabbing. Thank you for checking and feedback!

Jim too bad your coin looks messed up a bit. But hang onto it for now. The die state is very early. On New Members coin I could find matching die scratches for Wexlers' WDDR-003. I wish I had better images of your coin. Every place I want to look at the devices for hub doubling, it is dinged.

Hey Jim, that's still a very nice and incredible find, even if it's not in the best of shape. Very nice Doubled Die Reverse! That's a keeper! Make sure to hold on to this, put it in a 2x2, and label it.
Errers and Varietys.
