Can anyone tell me if this is remarkable? Color is different and I am unsure, but it seems like the In God we trust is a bit wonky. Had a hard time getting the pics under 300kb so I had to half them, hope that's ok. Thanks for your time.

I moved your post to the appropriate section for the proper attention.

The Lincoln Cent looks like it was gold plated.

@Lucinda, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes your coin has been plated. This does not add to the numismatic value. It is a little hard to say what is happening to the letter G, but the plating process likely removed any extra numismatic value from a mint error (if there was one--I can't tell from this pic). Your coin is safe to spend as it is only worth face value.

I hope that you will post additional coins to CCF! You may find using the free photo optimizer helpful:

Thank you all for the warm welcome and quick responses. I will be talking more with you all as my grandma recently left me a jar of wheat cents that she had collected. Think I will keep the 1966 as my first "find". It is kinda pretty. Have a great day everyone!

Are you referencing what I'll call a struck-through-thread (or possibly a die crack) running from the left side memorial base through UNITED STAT and terminating in a glop under TE, Spence..?

Just curious if we're looking at the same thing is all..

Yes it is very hard for me to tell what that is. In my mind, the aftermarket plating might have caused this--may be uneven plating or even surface staining. I'm trying to say that virtually no matter what sort of cool mint errors the OP's coin might have, the extra value they bring are negated by the plating.
