A couple of Lincoln cents here in my mother's collection that she's always needed some information on. All 3 of them seem to have the same error in common. We appreciate everyone's time and knowledge on this topic.
Same for me, the last is a "linear plating bubble". Something got between the plating and zinc core that has caused corrosion to start. Lines are usually hair, or fibers. The bubbles can be any kind of debris or liquids.
The curved bubbles makes me wonder if a coin wrapping matching didn't aggravate the corrosion to form a ring. Most times a "split plaiting" error happens, is the stretching of the devices, here, the date, when stamped. This may break the plating exposing the core to the elements. Its only a matter of time before corrosion sets in.
